Kick-off Meeting
14-16 November 2006 in Berlin, Germany

The SOLATERM project to promote solar thermal technologies in the southern Mediterranean region was launched on 14-16 November 2006 in Berlin, Germany. The SOLATERM project is financed within the 6th EU Framework Programme.

During the first meeting an overview of new technological developments in solar thermal was presented. 35 project partners from the Southern Mediterranean and EU discussed in three working groups the aims of the project and set-up a detailed work plan. The working groups focus on the framework conditions for solar thermal in the Southern Mediterranean Region, new solar thermal technologies and energy concepts involving solar thermal.

The SOLATERM partners were lucky with sunny days in Berlin. The group visited the German Reichstag with its innovative energy concept and the solar cooling installation of the Federal Press Office.
