Working Group Leader
Objectives
- To mutually transfer know-how on solar thermal technologies and specific conditions of the Mediterranean partner countries for current research and promotion projects of the EU and Mediterranean partner countries
- To develop new pilot projects for R&D on solar thermal systems for hot water, heating and cooling that are adapted to the Mediterranean partner countries needs
Activities
The direct transfer of know-how between the EU and partner institutions from the Mediterranean partner countries is carried out through an exchange of researchers and experts for marketing and project development. The project partners select current and planned R&D or promotion projects for solar thermal systems for hot water, heating and cooling which can benefit from a direct exchange of experts between an EU and a Mediterranean partner country. The central instruments for know-how exchange are:
Expert missions
Experts from the EU partner will provide advice and support during short-term missions to each of the Mediterranean partner countries. Expert advice is mainly provided for the development of new pilot projects.
Internships
Each institution of the Mediterranean partner countries will send one researcher or expert to EU partner institutions for a five-day internship to take part in the daily work of the host institution in the EU. The internships serve to strengthen the technological and organisational know-how of experts from the Mediterranean partner countries who work in current R&D or promotion projects or who are involved in the development of new projects in the field of solar thermal.
Parallely to project meetings the project partners have the possibility to visit innovative applications of solar thermal.
